Charlie: Welcome to Collector’s Maze: Today we are interviewing an artist out of Kansas. Would you like to tell us a little about yourself and your work?
Stephanie: Hello there, my name is Stephanie Nash, I'm 36 years old, wife and mom. I've been an artist my whole life, but it wasn't til recently that I took my hand at painting. I used to spend hours at a time as a kid just disappearing into my drawings, and now I've rekindled that therapeutic escape through my paintings.
I prefer surrealism, as it gives me freedom to express myself completely. I really enjoy the weirder things in life
Charlie: You stated that you recently got in painting, what type of art do you do before? Do you prefer painting now?
Stephanie: I was more of a sketch artist/cartoonist before.. I wouldn't say I prefer it, as I really enjoy a plethora of all different kinds of media, but I am definitely favoring all the new growth I've had with painting lately. There's so many different techniques to painting that has opened up a whole new world to me as an artist, as with pencil or charcoal, there's only so much to it

Charlie: Have you won any awards for your art or have you had any really cool experiences you would like to share?
Stephanie: No awards YET, but I haven't really done any competitions so to speak. I am however, located in a lovely established gallery in old Town wichita called tamsyns gallery by micky maddux. Super cool place. As well as have my art up for display (and for sale) in some of my favorite local shops such as downtown knollas pizza and a really cute store in clifton square called La vie Bohème apothecary and curiosity shoppe just to name a few. I also really enjoy doing the art shows that are hosted at barlycorns about once a month or so, put on by lana and Farley. Over all, I am just really enjoying making new friends and seeing all the amazing things our lovely art community has to offer. There is so much talent in our city
Charlie: You have alot of love for your city; it’s inspiring! What inspires you?
Stephanie: I get inspired by a lot, honestly .. the sun shining through my window just right when I wake up, a nice quiet morning seeing my kids peacefully sleeping, a beautiful sky, especially really neat clouds or an awesome thunderstorm, being surrounded by my plants, nature, walking barefoot, seeing someone light up from a compliment, really anything that brings joy of any kind to me or someone else is inspiring. I love seeing people succeed, and feel pride in what they do. Seeing others create beautiful things, whether it be art or an awesome memory, motivates me to create even more. I super appreciate genuinely good people, and I thrive of great vibes and just want to give it all right back
Charlie: In the spirit of giving back, how can we as the community help you? Anything fans can do to support a local artist?
Stephanie: Come visit me at my new store front when we're open looking at the doors to be open mid September! (Mopigs collectibles and custom paint) a collaborative store between me and my husband:) But so far, commission work has been great, I have had the pleasure of working with so many amazing people with so many amazing ideas!!! Keep em coming this is what I do for a living now, so any custom work brought my way (or shows) is always appreciated. I also sell the majority of my orginal peices as well. I just over all super appreciate everyone who's been in my corner, all the positivity throughout my journey has been a major push for me to break through whatever barrier I thought I had. Turns out it's only ourselves holding us back from what we really want, you just have to want something bad enough to find success in what you do.

Charlie: What are your future plans for your art?
Stephanie: To just keep climbing I'd love to have my art all over the world, not just the United States. I'm really enjoying the freedom I have now doing what I do.
Charlie: I’d like to thank you for your time, and for allowing Collector’s Maze to have this interview with you. Anything you would like fans to know about you?
Stephanie: Thank you for taking the time to chat with me. I'd like my fellow community to know, that I am always open to give or receive advice. And I just want everyone to continue to love and appreciate each other in our ever growing art community
